Finally, some waves

We finally had some good waves here in Southern California. The swell was smaller than they first predicted, but it was very clean for a few days. Light offshore winds and warm air temperature provided us perfect summer days in the middle of January.

Ty and Amy wedding

Ty and Amy got married in the beautiful Coronado beach. It was a very small wedding, only close family and friends. It was a very pretty day, almost like a summer day in the middle of the winter. You are always taking chances having a beach wedding in January, but Ty and Amy really lucked out, and couldn't have asked for a better day. Hope you like the images!

Velloso and Haydee engagement

Velloso and Haydee’s engagement session was a lot of fun. They wanted something a little different, non-traditional. Along with my long time friend, and outstanding photographer, Flavio Scorsato, I scouted for locations the previous week. We felt like we should do something related to old vehicles, airplanes. We found an old Ford truck, abandoned in this vacant lot, and we were really excited when we found out the doors were open. We also found an abandoned warehouse (yes, in San Diego!) and shot inside.
The couple loved the ideas and the location. They were really into the whole idea, and the fact that Haydee is very used to cameras surly helped on the results.
For this photo shoot, I used my digital Canon and Leica 35mm film gear. Here are a few images from that day.

Nicaragua

Hey everyone! So, I finally decided to give it a try and start a blog. I hope I am able to keep up with it. I will try to post my professional life, as well as some of my personal life. Feel free to comment and email me with any questions you might have. Thanks you very much for your visit, and I hope you enjoy my blog.
I will start the first posting with my latest surf trip. In late October, I went to Nicaragua with surfer and semi legend Phil Goodrich. A few other friends were able to make it as well, Sterling and Bob Ducharme flew in with me, and Micah, from Hawaii, and Joe and Jim, from Australia, drove all the way from San Diego. Needless to say, they scored very good waves in the way down. Crystal, Phil’s girlfriend, flew with him.
The waves were very good, the food and hospitality at “Las Chancletas hotel” was excellent. Offshore winds in the morning, and glass in the afternoons, and a huge beach, with a few river mouths only for us, nobody out. Thank you very much Shay and Loretta O'brien!
